We are looking for caring, compassionate people to join our team to support individuals with Learning Disabilities/Autism/Mental Health conditions, to live fulfilled lives in their own homes or whilst attending The Bungalow (Gale Lane, Acomb).
The post holder will work in an integrated way over a range of service settings. Currently this will be 2 days based at The Bungalow Day Service and 1 day working in the community/supporting individuals in their own home.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and enjoys the challenge of a role where every day can be different. The role requires sound judgement, the confidence to work independently and part of a team with a commitment to delivering high-quality support that focuses on strengths, aspirations and positive outcomes.
This role involves acting as a keyworker/case holder and actively contributing to the development and review of person-centred support plans and risk assessments, maintaining accurate records, attending relevant meetings, using technology, responsibility for new customer referrals, monitoring outcomes and ensuring individuals are safeguarded at all times.
Working at The Bungalow, you will work closely with individuals, their families and partner organisations to provide person centred support. You will be required to follow the timetable and will be responsible for planning and implementing activities both on base and out in the community. The role encourages individuals to access local services, build social connections and take part in activities that promote health, independence, wellbeing and community involvement.
As a Support Worker in the community, you will work closely with individuals, their families and partner organisations to provide person-centred support that builds confidence, resilience and practical life skills to live independently in their own homes and remain active within their communities.

Professional care experience is desirable, but not essential as Care Certificate training will be provided along with the opportunity to work towards NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in care if you do not already have one.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
