Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Playspaces Arbroath in our 2 - 3 room. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and play. This position requires strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a genuine love for working with children.
This position is full time and permanent, 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Work together to create and implement age-appropriate provocations and plans for the children in your care.
- Provide a warm, safe and welcoming atmosphere for children, ensuring their needs are listened to.
- Manage daily routines such as transitions, meals, sleeps, while encouraging positive interactions among children.
- Communicate effectively with families about children's progress, daily feedback and any concerns that may arise.
- Observe and assess children's development, documenting their achievements, milestones and progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of all children and promotes teamwork with co-workers.
- Keep a high standard of cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting.
- Adhere to relevant national and local standards and be willing to under take relevant training for professional development.
- Be knowledgeable about Realising the Ambition and the Curriculum for Excellence and be able to put these into your daily practice.
Person specification
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare is essential. HNC or equivalent and previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is essential.
- Previous experience and a genuine interest in working within the 2 - 3 room.
- A strong understanding of child development and early years frameworks (such as Realising the Ambition and Curriculum for Excellence).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues and build relationships.
- SSSC registration (or eligibility to register) and PVG scheme membership.
- A genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to fostering children's development.
- Ability to demonstrate creativity in planning engaging activities that stimulate learning.
- A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
- Organisational skills and the ability to work as a team.
