Banana Moon Day Nursery Barnstaple is seeking a motivated and experienced Room Leader to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a nursery room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare and education.
As a Room Leader, you will create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages children’s development and learning. You will plan the curriculum, support and mentor your team, and foster positive relationships with parents and carers.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the daily running of your nursery room, ensuring compliance with EYFS and company policies.

Plan and implement educational activities to support children’s learning and development.

Support, supervise, and mentor nursery practitioners and assistants.

Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.

Engage effectively with parents and carers to share children’s progress and wellbeing.

Contribute to nursery improvement plans and inspections.
Requirements

Minimum ‘Full and Relevant’ Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Nursery Nursing, or related field.

Proven experience in a Room Leader or senior nursery role.

Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding legislation.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Passion for early years education and commitment to children’s development.

Ability to work flexibly, including some early mornings or evenings, if required.
