THE ROLE
The successful candidate would ideally be located in or around, Glasgow, however we would consider applicants within West or Central Scotland. The sales territory covers Scotland.
The Sales Surveyor Trainee will be required to shadow and learn directly from our Commercial Manager, Internal and External Glasgow Based Colleagues and External Manufacturers, which will involve nights away as this part of our Supply Chain are based all over the United Kingdom and Europe/Scandinavia. You will initially assist in carrying out assessments to sell our lifting, hoisting and bathing product lines to the end user in the private sector and the public sector via the Local Authority Structure. Technical knowledge of home/building structures, as well as a driving licence are essential as successful candidates will be required to measure and calculate accurately to ensure products meet requirements.
Excellent people skills, attention to detail, good spatial awareness and an ability to translate that to a basic drawing of a plan; an aptitude to be “hands on” and have a proficiency with tools are essential to the role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to);
- Abide by company personnel policies with a high standard of customer care, honesty, integrity and professionalism.
- Maintain a safe workplace in accordance with health & safety policies.
- Be prepared to respond at short notice to our customer requests.
- Fully understand the sales process appropriate to the markets and to develop sales.
- Telephone, email customers and suppliers in a professional and concise manner.
- Have a very good knowledge of product ranges and specifications, when applicable prepare appropriate quotations.
- Carry out accurately and record details of surveys (often in domestic settings),
- Provide the customer with a thorough understanding of the product and solutions to best fits their needs.
- Be aware of competitor activities including products, marketing and organisational structure, and keep up to date with competitor sales and understand how to counteract.
- Complete all paperwork in line with company procedures and policies.
- Complete ongoing product and survey training in relation to new products coming into the market.
- Efficient diary planning, route planning and time utilisation.
- Building relationships with Internal and External Customers, Professional Healthcare Workers (Allied Healthcare Workers) and Suppliers.

Duties will involve providing customer service by following-up quotations and assisting with customer queries. In addition, there may be occasions to assist the operations team requiring accuracy and attention to detail plus general administrative duties to perform, so candidates should be flexible. You will need to be proactive and able to use your own initiative and be well organised.
