Carter Burnett is delighted to be looking to recruit a new Trainee Costs Lawyer/ Trainee Costs Draftsperson to expand our current department based in Manchester.
Applicants must be qualified to degree level and have a keen interest in pursuing a career in the legal industry.
In essence, your role is to help Solicitors and Lawyers from external legal firms claim all the relevant Costs they are entitled when representing a client on a Case.
Previous legal experience would be advantageous, but is not essential for the role as full training will be given by our experienced Law Costs professionals.

Responsibilities
During the training period, you will be taught how to conduct the following tasks so that you can carry them out independently.
· Drafting Schedules of Costs
· Drafting Bills of Costs
· Negotiation
· Prepare and issue of Part 8 proceedings
· Preparing costs budgets and associated work
Remuneration & Benefits
· Salary from £24,000 during two-year training period
· Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (35 hours per week)

· Must be qualified to degree level & be willing to study further
