Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Therapist to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting orthodontic treatments, assisting with patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the orthodontic department. Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during patient consultations and procedures, ensuring all equipment and materials are prepared and sterile.
- Take and develop dental impressions, photographs, and digital scans using CAD technology for treatment planning.
- Support in the application, adjustment, and removal of orthodontic appliances such as braces and aligners.
- Conduct dental imaging procedures, including intraoral and extraoral radiographs, adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide patient education on orthodontic care, oral hygiene practices, and appliance maintenance.
- Monitor patient progress by recording treatment details accurately in patient records.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient files related to orthodontic treatments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised clinical environment.
Experience
- Prior experience working as an Orthodontic Therapist
- Proficiency in CAD software utilised for dental modelling and treatment planning is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry is essential.
- A solid understanding of human anatomy, particularly oral and maxillofacial structures, is required to support accurate treatment delivery.
- Experience with digital scanning devices and orthodontic appliances will be considered a plus.
- Certification or registration with relevant professional bodies is mandatory
