Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant – Independent Pharmacy (Part Time, 24hrs)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at Ysgol Street Pharmacy, an independent community pharmacy based in Port Tennant, Swansea (SA1).
We are a well-established pharmacy that has recently undergone a full refurbishment and continues to invest in new technologies to improve patient care and customer experience.
Hours: Monday to Wednesday – 24 hours per week.
Pay: £13.21 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience
Opportunity to cover extra shifts.
Training and development opportunities are available for the right candidate.
Main duties (dependent on experience)
- Dispensing, selecting and labelling prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Supporting patients with prescription and general healthcare queries
- Providing advice on over-the-counter medicines
- Using pharmacy IT systems and operating tills
- Receiving, ordering and managing stock
- Working as part of a close-knit pharmacy team to deliver excellent customer service
Essential requirements
- NVQ Level 1 Medicines Counter Assistant qualification
- Minimum 6 months’ experience working in a pharmacy
- Accurate, reliable and methodical
- Strong communication and IT skills
- Passion for customer service and healthcare
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Dispensing qualification
- Over 1 year’s pharmacy experience
- Stock control and team-working experience
