This is an exciting time to join Blackburn with Darwen's Venues Team. Following a £13.5 million transformation, King George's Hall is preparing to reopen, creating a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help shape the future of one of Lancashire's most iconic entertainment venues, alongside Darwen Library Theatre (also soon to receive several million pounds worth of investment).
We're looking for an ambitious and experienced Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our venues, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, high-performing teams, and the successful delivery of a diverse programme of live events, performances, conferences and community activities.
You'll lead Front of House, Hospitality and Technical teams, driving operational excellence, commercial performance, safety and service quality across the venues.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience leading operations within a venue, theatre, leisure, hospitality, events or visitor attraction environment.
- Inspires and develops high-performing teams.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.
- Understands how to balance commercial success with outstanding visitor experiences.
- Can confidently lead major events, manage complex operations and drive continuous improvement.
Why join us?
This is more than an operational management role. It's an opportunity to play a leading part in the reopening of King George's Hall, help shape the future of culture and entertainment in Blackburn with Darwen, and deliver experiences enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors every year. If you're an energetic leader with a passion for live events, customer experience and operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
Join us and help bring one of Lancashire's most exciting venue redevelopments to life.
