We are seeking a talented Chef with a few years of experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to have a real influence on a growing food offering while working within a supportive management structure, while we prepare to go from cafe to more of a bistro style in the evenings.
The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager on menu development and seasonal planning, contributing ideas and creativity to a focused, regularly changing menu. We're looking for someone who is passionate about great food, eager to experiment with new dishes, and excited by the opportunity to showcase their ideas through seasonal specials.
Alongside maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, the role will involve supporting kitchen operations, assisting with ordering and stock control, and helping to develop efficient kitchen procedures. While there is an element of leadership and responsibility within the kitchen, this is a hands-on role with strong support from an involved General Manager, making it an ideal stepping stone towards a future Head Chef position.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen management role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
- Demonstrated expertise in food production and restaurant operations
- Good understanding of hospitality standards including serving procedures
- Prior experience in culinary arts or hospitality industry recognised as beneficial
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction
