Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Senior Charge Nurse/Midwife within our Neonatal Service and play a pivotal leadership role in delivering outstanding care to newborn babies and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated nursing and multidisciplinary team, driving excellence in patient care, safety, quality improvement and staff development. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Part-time, Fixed Term for 1 Year

You will be based at The Royal Alexandra Hospital

Working Pattern: 5 days over 7 days/nights
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and professional leadership to the neonatal nursing and multidisciplinary team

Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, person-centred and evidence-based care for patients and families
-
Lead on quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, audit activity and patient safety programmes

Manage staffing resources, workforce planning, recruitment, performance management and professional development
-
Promote a positive learning culture through coaching, mentoring and supporting education opportunities for staff and students

Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards, policies and key performance indicators

Work collaboratively with clinicians, managers and partners to support service development and organisational objectives
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered Nurse (Adult or Child Branch) or Registered Midwife with current NMC registration relevant to the service area

Neonatal qualification and educated to degree level or equivalent level of continuing professional development

Significant post-registration experience within a Neonatal Intensive Care or relevant neonatal setting

Demonstrable expert clinical neonatal knowledge and skills with the ability to influence and drive improvements in practice

Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, develop and manage high-performing teams

Knowledge and experience of clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety and infection prevention and control

Strong communication, organisational, digital literacy and relationship-building skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient and family experiences
