Job Summary
We are seeking an organised, creative and proactive Part-Time Marketing Assistant to support the promotion and continued growth of our independent commercial insurance brokerage.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering social media, website content, email marketing and prospect-list management. You will work closely with the company’s Director and wider team to raise awareness of our services, communicate with existing clients and identify potential new business opportunities.
The position would suit someone with practical marketing experience who is comfortable managing their own workload and turning ideas into well-written, professional marketing content. Previous insurance experience would be useful but is not essential, as guidance will be provided on our services and target markets.
Duties
- Plan, create and schedule regular content across our social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Develop a consistent social media and content calendar.
- Create engaging posts that promote our services, industry knowledge, client support and company personality.
- Monitor social media activity and respond to or refer comments and enquiries appropriately.
- Review and update the company website, including service pages, articles, news and other content.
- Identify opportunities to improve the website’s wording, structure, user experience and search visibility.
- Prepare and distribute client newsletters, insurance updates and targeted email-marketing campaigns.
- Maintain accurate client and prospect mailing lists.
- Research suitable prospective clients within agreed business sectors.
- Add, update and organise prospect information using spreadsheets, databases or our CRM system.
- Support follow-up activity resulting from social media, email and other marketing campaigns.
- Produce marketing materials such as presentations, leaflets, brochures and digital content.
- Liaise with external website, design and marketing providers when required.
- Track basic marketing results, including engagement, website enquiries and campaign responses.
- Ensure all published material is accurate, professional and consistent with our company brand.
- Handle client and prospect information responsibly and confidentially.
- Provide general administrative support for marketing and business-development projects.
Skills
- Excellent written English, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and engaging content.
- Previous experience in a marketing, social media, communications or similar role.
- A practical understanding of business-to-business marketing.
- Confidence using social media platforms for business purposes.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage agreed tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when preparing content for publication.
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience using Canva or similar design software.
- Experience maintaining spreadsheets, databases, CRM records or mailing lists.
- A basic understanding of email-marketing platforms and website content-management systems.
- An understanding of SEO and website analytics would be beneficial.
- A proactive attitude, with the confidence to suggest ideas and improvements.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues and external suppliers.
- Previous experience in insurance, financial services or another regulated industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
