Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Goods In Operative to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incoming stock, ensuring accurate recording and storage, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in materials handling, warehouse management systems, and logistics processes within a dynamic environment. The position involves lifting of boxes and requires mechanical aptitude, with a focus on maintaining safety and organisation throughout the goods receipt process.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming deliveries, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Operate forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment safely to load, unload, and transport goods within the facility.
- Use computer systems to book in and manage deliveries
- Stock received items in designated storage locations, ensuring organisation and accessibility.
- Assist with picking and packing orders for dispatch, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing goods for shipment or storage.
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory management procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse operations and meet operational targets.
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse management or logistics is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems
- Experience in materials handling, stock control, or construction environments is advantageous.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks is essential.
- Prior experience in picking & packing, shipping & receiving roles will be beneficial. This role requires organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment while adhering to safety standards.
Pay: £26,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
