Ashlyns Catering Ltd, in partnership with Lansdowne Primary Academy , have a vacancy for 3 x GENERAL KITCHEN ASSISTANT with a planned start date of Tuesday 01 September 2026.
Main responsibilities will include on rotation; setting up for service, serving meals, clearing & washing up and some food preparation/assisting the Catering Manager.
Catering experience and knowledge of allergens would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided.
All roles are 5 days a week, term time only (39 weeks per annum + 5.6 weeks paid annual leave.
The first role is for 5 hours per day, 09:00-14:00, 25 hours per week and will undertake a more senior role in assisting the Catering Manager with meal preparation, baking etc. In the event the Catering Manager is absent, you will be accountable for the kitchen and be compensated accordingly.
The second role is also for 5 hours per day, 09:00-14:00, 25 hours per week, and will be focused more on ingredient preparation, cleaning and service.
The third role is for 3 hours per day, 11:00-14:00, 15 hours per week and will focus on joining the team for lunch time service and clearing down afterwards.

Applicants must be prepared to complete an enhanced DBS prior to starting work, that is satisfactory to both Ashlyns and the school, further checks will be completed throughout employment as stipulated by the DfE in line with safeguarding policies when working with children.
Applicants will also need to complete mandatory online training provided by Ashlyns, including: Basic Food Hygiene Level 2, Manual Handling, Allergen Awareness and COSHH.
