Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Stock Control Assistant to join our logistics and supply chain team. This role involves managing inventory levels, analysing stock data, and ensuring efficient stock movement within our warehouse and distribution centres. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and the ability to optimise stock processes through data analysis and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels using Warehouse Management Systems.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies through root cause analysis.
- Utilise data mining and visualisation tools to identify trends and optimise inventory processes.
- Coordinate with logistics providers, to ensure timely shipping & receiving of goods.
- Assist with category management, merchandising, and materials handling to streamline stock organisation.
- Analyse supply chain data to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Manage stock replenishment schedules, ensuring efficient stocking procedures while adhering to safety standards for heavy lifting.
- Support shipping & receiving operations, including forklift operation where qualified, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with retail management teams to align stock levels with sales forecasts and promotional activities.
- Utilise data analysis skills to generate reports that inform decision-making processes.
Skills
- Strong data analysis skills with experience.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, category management, and merchandising principles.
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving procedures, including forklift operation (certification preferred).
- Analytical mindset with root cause analysis capabilities to resolve inventory discrepancies effectively.
- Competence in process improvement methodologies aimed at enhancing warehouse efficiency.
- Familiarity retail management practices is advantageous.
- Strong negotiation skills for supplier interactions and internal stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to visualise complex data sets for strategic insights.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting when required; adherence to health & safety standards is essential.
