Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, primarily with a flatbed configuration, ensuring adherence to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured correctly during transit.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo as required, maintaining accuracy in delivery documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods via lorry.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 2 (category C).
- Experience in delivery driving, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo efficiently and safely.
- Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage schedules.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
