FP&A Analyst Salary: Up to £55,000 + 10% annual bonus Location: Basingstoke (office based, circa 1 day per week WFH after probation, some flexibility depending on line manager)
Ferox Partners are recruiting for an FP&A Analyst on behalf of a high growth, high volume, PE backed business in Basingstoke. This is a fast paced role in an industry that is still new and evolving, so a genuine appetite for change and a lot of unknowns is essential. You'll work closely with the Head of FP&A and play a key role in driving financial insight and performance reporting across the business, going beyond the numbers to understand what's driving performance and translating that into clear, confident communication for senior stakeholders, up to and including the CEO.
The Package
- Up to £55,000, depending on experience
- 10% discretionary annual bonus
- Office based, with circa 1 day per week working from home after probation (some flexibility depending on line manager)
- Free on site parking
- 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays
- 1 paid volunteering day per year
- Life insurance at 3 x annual salary from day one
- Quarterly company events
- Free snacks & drinks in the office
The Role
This role can suit someone senior. You'll own and run the month end timetable end to end, which means organising and leading the review meetings and coordinating the diaries of three senior stakeholders above you to keep everything on track. You'll need to be comfortable standing up in front of the room, including presenting the budget directly to the CEO, so this isn't a background reporting role, it's front and centre.
Roughly half of the role is business as usual, month end, forecasting and budgeting. The other half is organic, ad hoc project work that shifts as the business grows, so no two weeks look the same.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own and manage the month-end timetable, including organising and leading review meetings and presenting monthly results to key stakeholders and the CEO
- Build and maintain a 3 statement financial model (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to underpin forecasting and budgeting
- Produce monthly forecast/budget variance analysis, highlighting issues with key business stakeholders and maintaining forecast scenarios
- Coordinate and manage up, working with three senior stakeholders' diaries to keep month end moving
- Assist the Head of FP&A in developing and managing forecast/budget processes, working with the wider finance team who own the core inputs
- Assist with preparation of performance decks and board reports covering financial outputs and market & competitor insight
- Assist with preparation of investor and PE reporting, supporting data collation and analysis as required
What We're Looking For
- A core level of financial understanding with experience of 3 statement modelling, month end, forecasting and budgeting
- A confident, commanding communicator, comfortable being in the room and in the conversation, including presenting to senior leadership and the CEO
- Excellent organisational skills, able to coordinate multiple senior diaries and pivot quickly when priorities shift
- Genuinely comfortable with uncertainty and a lack of fixed schedule, this is a reactive, fast paced role and it won't suit everyone
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA (or studying towards) is a nice to have, we're far more interested in your soft skills and dynamism than the letters after your name
The Person
You're naturally curious and not afraid to say "I don't know what that looks like, I'll go and have a look" and then actually go and look. You ask "why don't we do it this way, can we do it better?" as a matter of habit, not just when you're asked to. You want to use your experience to challenge and improve how things are done, and you're looking for a place where it's safe to try something new, fail, learn and go again.
This is a role people tend to either love or realise isn't for them within the first month, so honest self awareness about how you work best matters as much as the technical skills.
