Nursery Manager position. Responsible for the overall management and smooth operation of a nursery, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment for children and a positive work environment for staff. You will manage staff, oversee daily activities, implement policies, and collaborate with parents and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, ensuring high standards of care and support. Plan schedules, support upper management to manage their teams.
Operational Management:
Oversee daily activities, including managing budgets, schedules, and ensuring the nursery is clean, safe, and well-equipped.
Curriculum and Development:
Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum, whilst ensuring the team carry out learning activities, promoting children's growth and development.
Parent Communication:
Ensure staff communicate with parents regularly about their children's progress and well-being, you must also build strong relationships and address any concerns.
Compliance and Regulations:
Ensure the nursery complies with relevant regulations, such as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Ofsted inspections, and health and safety guidelines.
Marketing and Admissions:
Promote the nursery to attract new children and families, ensuring a full enrollment. Manage funding submissions.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate the nursery's quality, implementing improvements and ensuring best practices. The nursery is in need of attention to this area, this is reflected in the salary offer.
Partnerships:
Establish and maintain partnerships with parents, local authorities, and other relevant professionals.
Child Protection:
Ensure children's safety and well being, implementing safeguarding procedures and reporting any concerns
I would just like to highlight, the setting has been open for 13 years. We are a 47 place nursery. We run a flexible setting, flexible for children and staff. There are no set sessions for families. We are open 7am to 6pm. We close for 2 weeks at Christmas, one week in August and have a further 7 non pupil days.
I cover opens if someone calls in sick, the successful candidate will need to cover later in the day if sickness cover or annual leave cover is needed and we can't cover it using someone else. There is scope for to able to work from home during the half terms and holidays, if not needed in the setting and the other manager or deputy manager is not on leave. The successful candidate may occasionally need to be available outside of working hours.
Qualifications
- Experience in early childhood education and nursery management would be beneficial
- Strong leadership and to oversee staff and operations
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff
- Background in childcare with a focus on nurturing and educational development
- Proficiency in English for effective communication and documentation
Pay: From £23,400.00 per year
