Retail & Design Assistant – seasonal
Fixed term until end August/mid September 2026
Lochcarron of Scotland is a leading designer and manufacturer of tartan fabric and products based at Selkirk in the Scottish Borders.
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to come and join us over our busy seasonal period, based at Lochcarron of Scotland, Rogers Road, Selkirk.
Your areas of work will be helping out in our retail shop, giving guided tours as well as working within our design and marketing department.
Your main responsibilities and tasks will include:
- Welcome, assist & give advice to our customers about our products & ensure our high standards of service are met at all times.
- Organising and delivering a memorable experience for all our customers through guided tours of our textile weaving mill.
- Assisting customers who visit the outlet and replenish and display the merchandising when required.
- Supporting the design team with updating yarn strings and pattern room tasks.
We are looking for someone who is a good communicator, has strong interpersonal skills and is organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
This role is ideally based on 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday 9am – 2pm, with additional hours available to cover holidays and events.
