Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Estate Farm Hand and Gardener to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in animal husbandry and landscape maintenance. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of gardening and farming tasks, working closely with experienced professionals to develop their skills in a private estate/farm setting. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about gardening, animals, and working outdoors in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, and weeding.
- Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees to enhance the overall appearance.
- Monitor and repair irrigation systems as needed.
- Keep pathways, roads, and parking areas clear and safe.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of outdoor spaces and farm facilities.
- Assist in feeding and caring for livestock.
- Assist in various farm tasks as needed.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance of buildings, structures and fencing.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment.
Experience/Qualities
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Basic knowledge of gardening, farming or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential; all training will be provided
- Experience using hand and power tools is advantageous
- No formal qualifications are required; strong work ethic, enthusiasm and willingness to learn and work outdoors in various weather conditions are key qualities for success in this role
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
