We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quarry Manager to lead operations at our Bluehill Quarry, Craigellachie, Moray.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable management of the quarry in full compliance with the Quarries Regulations 1999 and all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation. You will set and maintain high standards of performance, productivity, conduct and discipline while fostering a strong safety-first culture.
The successful candidate will be a confident leader with excellent communication skills, capable of managing, training and developing a skilled workforce. You will have a proven track record of meeting production targets, driving continuous improvement and maximising operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
- Prepare, implement and enforce Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
- Plan and effectively utilise labour, plant and materials
- Manage production efficiency, quality and output
- Achieve production, cost control and profitability targets
- Oversee blasting operations within the quarry
- Maintain effective communication with Sales Managers and Distribution teams to meet customer demand
- Report production, material and financial performance to senior management
- Lead, motivate and develop employees, identifying training and development needs
- Promote a positive, supportive and team-focused working environment
About You:
- Proven experience in quarry or similar heavy industry management
- Strong leadership, people management and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive performance and continuous improvement
- Sound knowledge of quarry health & safety regulations and best practice
