As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Barista to join our team at our Cranleigh coffee shop.
The Role
This is a part-time, hands-on position for someone who loves coffee, enjoys working with people and is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the shop during their shifts.
You will work 32 hours per week on a rota, including alternate weekends, giving you one weekend off a month.
Main Responsibilities
Preparing espresso-based drinks to a consistently high standard
Dialling in the grinder and monitoring coffee quality
Milk steaming and latte art
Delivering excellent and friendly customer service
Opening and closing the coffee shop
Operating the till / EPOS system
Supporting and coordinating Shop Assistants during shifts
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
Monitoring stock levels and communicating requirements to managementReceiving and organising deliveries
Selling our retail coffee and helping customers choose between our different coffees
Learning and communicating the stories behind our Colombian specialty coffees
Maintaining Alpher Coffee's service and quality standards throughout the day
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous barista experience
Is confident preparing espresso-based drinks
Has good milk-steaming skills and basic latte art
Is reliable, organised and proactive
Is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility during a shift
Enjoys providing excellent customer service
Works well as part of a small team
Has an interest in specialty coffee
Is available to work a minimum of 32 hours per week on a rota, including alternate weekends
Previous Senior Barista or Shift Leader experience would be an advantage, but it is not
essential for the right person.
