Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Walker to join our pet care team. This role involves providing daily exercise and companionship to dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring their well-being and happiness. Duties
- Take dogs on scheduled walks, ensuring they are exercised appropriately according to their needs
- Monitor dogs during walks for behaviour and safety, responding promptly to any issues
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding assistance if required and administering medication under supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe environment during walks, including cleaning up after dogs
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ behaviour and wellbeing
- Assist with organising walk schedules and record keeping for each dog’s activity
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as managing equipment or assisting with pet transportation
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary experience or animal care background is advantageous but not essential
- Strong passion for animals with a caring and gentle demeanour
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting when required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic understanding of dog behaviour and safety protocols during walks
