Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Clinical Education and Development Consultantspecializing in Sports Therapy to lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our sports therapy professionals. In this role, you will foster a culture of continuous learning, mentorship, and professional growth, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of sports injury management, rehabilitation techniques, and client care. Your expertise will drive engaging educational initiatives that align with organizational goals and industry standards, empowering staff to deliver exceptional service and innovative therapies.
Duties
- Teaching Level 3, Level 4 and potentially Level 5 sports massage qualifications
- Delivering engaging practical and theory-based teaching
- Supporting learners throughout their qualifications
- Assessing learner competence and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Developing therapists within the Zeers Therapy clinical team
- Delivering internal training, mentoring and continuing professional development
- Supporting staff inductions, observations and competency assessments
- Helping maintain consistent standards in treatment, consultation and client care
- Reviewing learner and therapist progress
- Supporting course planning and the development of teaching resources
- Supporting awarding-body and quality-assurance requirements
- Helping develop new courses, workshops and CPD opportunities
- Contributing to the long-term growth of both Zeers Therapy and Sports Massage Training UK
Essential clinical requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a qualified Sports Therapist or suitably qualified physical therapy professional
- Hold a recognised qualification at Level 5 or above in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy or a closely related physical therapy discipline
- Have at least three years of relevant clinical experience
- Be a current member of the Society of Sports Therapists, BASRaT, or another recognised and appropriate professional body
- Have strong practical skills in sports massage, injury assessment, rehabilitation and client care
- Be confident supporting, mentoring and developing other therapists
- Have a genuine desire to improve clinical standards
- Be passionate about training and inspiring the next generation of sports massage therapists
Teaching and assessment requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a recognised teaching or tutoring qualification, or be willing to work towards one
- Hold a Level 3 Assessor qualification, such as the Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, or be willing to work towards one
- Be confident delivering practical and theory-based sports massage education, or be willing to develop these skills with support and training
- Be able to assess learner competence and provide clear, constructive feedback, or be willing to work towards becoming competent in these areas
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in teaching, mentoring and developing future sports massage therapists
Desirable qualifications and experience
The following would be highly advantageous:
- Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status — QTLS
- Internal Quality Assurance — IQA qualification
- Level 4 or Level 5 Sports Massage Therapy qualification
- Degree in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy or a related discipline
- Experience teaching regulated qualifications
- Experience internally quality assuring regulated qualifications
- Experience working with awarding organisations such as Focus Awards, VTCT or ITEC
- Experience observing, mentoring and developing tutors and assessors
- Experience managing or developing a clinical team
- Experience creating lesson plans, learning resources and assessment materials
- Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs
- Experience delivering CPD workshops or specialist practical training
