Job Summary
The Duty Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of daily activities within the organisation. Responsible for overseeing staff, managing customer relations, and maintaining high standards of service, the Duty Manager acts as the key point of contact during their shift. This position requires strong organisational skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively to uphold the organisation’s reputation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operational activities to ensure seamless service delivery
- Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance and support to optimise performance
- Monitor adherence to organisational policies, health and safety regulations, and quality standards
- Address customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction
- Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate solutions
- Manage scheduling, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained during shifts
- Oversee cash handling procedures and maintain accurate records of transactions
- Report on shift activities, incidents, and operational metrics to senior management
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and organisational requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a service or hospitality environment
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret operational data and inform decision-making processes
- Outstanding organisational abilities with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with staff and customers confidently
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Pay: £13.20-£13.45 per hour
