Overview:
GAPS are a family owned and run business, which has been operating in Attleborough Nuneaton for over 40 years. GAPS are the largest producer of thread ground tooling within the UK. We predominantly supply to the aerospace and motorsport sectors and as such produce tools of the highest quality. Tools manufactured by GAPS are used around the world to produce millions of premium fasteners each year.
We are seeking a Machine Operator with engineering experience to join our team. As a Machine Operator at GAPS, you will be responsible for operating a Matrix Thread Grinding machine to produce thread rolling tools. This is a full-time position based in our manufacturing plant in Attleborough, Nuneaton. Plant hours are 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday and 7.30am - 12.30pm on Fridays.
A willingness to learn and an excellent attitude will be required as full training in thread grinding will be provided.
Wage is dependant upon experience. Applicants fresh from education with a good attitude will be considered and welcomed.
Responsibilities:
- Operate machines to ensure quality production output
- Set up machine according to job specification
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
Qualifications:
- NVQ L3 in Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar role preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and operating machinery.
- Basic math and trigonometry skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with materials handling procedures.
