RECYCLING OPERATIVE

Temporary Vacancy – Minimum 3 month guaranteed
We are looking for a new member of staff to join our wonderful team at Bridport Household Recycling Centre. This is a temporary role to cover a period of sickness. The contract will be for a minimum of 3 months but could be extended as we are unable to say how long the cover will be required.
You will be required to advise and assist members of the public on this busy site. Making sure materials are placed in the correct skips, liaising, interacting and engaging with members of the public, sorting waste/recyclables and keeping the site clean and tidy. A booking system has also recently been introduced which means a tablet is provided to site staff to check permits and DIY bookings.
This outdoor work can be physically demanding and requires candidates who are hardworking team players. Full training will be provided and uniform and PPE is provided as standard.
The working week is working five days out of seven on a fixed rota as the site is fully operational seven days a week. The scheduled days off for this position are Sunday and Thursday of every week. Please note this does not change as it is a set covering another member of staff’s rota.
The hours of work are:
8.00 am to 5.00 pm April to September
8.00 am to 4.30 pm October to March
We pay you for a 42.5 hour working week all year round and the hourly rate is currently £13.50. If you complete your full working week you will also receive an additional £15.00 for each Saturday, and £25.00 for each Sunday worked.
