Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager Childcare to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for child development, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment where children can thrive and learn. The Deputy Manager Childcare will be responsible for assisting the Manager in overseeing staff, ensuring high standards of care, and supporting programme delivery. Fluency in English and French is desirable to facilitate communication with diverse families and team members.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Childcare Centre Manager in supervising daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies
- Support staff in planning and delivering engaging educational activities tailored to children's developmental needs
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children
- Help organise staff rotas, oversee attendance, and support recruitment processes when necessary
- Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, addressing concerns and providing updates on children's progress
- Support staff training programmes and professional development initiatives
- Participate in the organisation of special events and community engagement activities
- Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in childcare settings such as teaching, nannying, or working within a childcare centre
- Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience within a childcare environment is preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and early years education frameworks
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is highly desirable
- Driving experience or possession of a valid driving licence is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Working hours are 9am till 1pm or 9am till 3pm
