The Team Leader/Cleaner is responsible for leading the housekeeping team alongside other leaders to ensure all holiday properties and communal areas are cleaned and presented to the highest standards. The role combines hands-on cleaning with supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction for guests.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of cleaners.
- Allocate daily cleaning schedules and workloads.
- Train and mentor new and existing team members.
- Carry out quality inspections to ensure company standards are met.
- Address any performance or operational issues professionally.
- Promote a positive, safe, and productive working environment.
Cleaning Duties
- Clean holiday accommodation, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas.
- Ensure all properties are fully prepared for arriving guests.
- Clean communal areas where required.
- Replenish consumables and report any shortages.
- Follow cleaning procedures, health and safety guidelines, and infection control measures.
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or lost property promptly.
Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained and used safely.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning products and supplies.
- Complete required paperwork and quality check records.
- Liaise with management regarding occupancy levels, staffing needs, and guest feedback.
- Respond efficiently to urgent cleaning requests or guest issues.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning.
- Experience supervising or leading a team is desirable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
