Electrical Technical Engineer
Shrewsbury | Full Time | £38,000–£45,000 DOE
CES is a growing electrical engineering contractor delivering commercial electrical installations, renewable energy systems and EV charging infrastructure across the UK.
As demand for our services continues to grow, we're looking for an Electrical Technical Engineer to work directly alongside our Managing Directors, supporting the design and delivery of a diverse range of commercial and renewable energy projects.

The Role
Working alongside the Managing Directors, you'll support projects from initial enquiry through to completion, helping deliver high-quality technical solutions for our clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing commercial electrical installations.
- Producing CAD drawings and technical layouts.
- Preparing single-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Cable sizing and electrical calculations.
- Supporting the design of solar PV and battery storage systems.
- Assisting with the design of commercial EV charging infrastructure.
- Preparing material schedules and procurement information.
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Carrying out technical surveys and site visits.
- Producing technical documentation and O&M manuals.
- Providing technical support to project delivery teams.
- Attending client meetings and representing CES professionally throughout the design and delivery process.

You'll have the opportunity to become involved in exciting emerging technologies including:
- Commercial EV charging infrastructure.
- DC rapid charging.
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Renewable energy integration.
- Electrical infrastructure upgrades.
- Future energy technologies.
Experience within these sectors would be advantageous but isn't essential. We're looking for someone with a strong electrical engineering background who is enthusiastic about learning and developing alongside the business.
About You
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Commercial electrical installations.
- Electrical design.
- CAD software.
- Electrical schematics.
- BS 7671.
- Cable calculations.
- Microsoft Office.
Experience within renewable energy, EV charging or battery storage would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys solving engineering problems, takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to continue developing their engineering career.
