General Summary of Role:
As Finance Manager you will take ownership of the financial management and reporting of the business, playing a key strategic role in supporting decision-making at both Senior Leadership and Board level. You will oversee all core financial processes from day-to-day bookkeeping through to management accounts and forecasting. You will bring a proactive, analytical mindset to help drive financial clarity across the business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives working autonomously and is confident leading finance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In addition to your core finance responsibilities, you will provide adhoc office management support, helping to ensure the smooth running of our operations.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Finance
● Take ownership of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing,
payments, and credit control
● Reconcile bank transactions and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records including company credit card reconciliation
● Process employee and freelancer expense claims
● Monitor cash flow, manage financial risk, and lead on budget tracking and forecasting
● Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for the SLT and quarterly for the Board, providing clear commentary and insight to support decision-making
● Liaise with external accountants and lead on preparation of documentation for year-end accounts
● Oversee payroll preparation and HMRC submissions working closely with external accountants, ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations including P11D preparation, holiday and sick leave reporting.
● Maintain robust digital filing of receipts, invoices, and all finance-related documents
● Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls across the business
Office Management (Ad Hoc)
● Act as a point of contact for general office queries, escalating where appropriate
● Maintain and order office supplies, stationery, and refreshments
● Oversee office equipment and coordinate with suppliers for maintenance or repairs
● Support the wider team with general administrative tasks as required
● Help maintain a well-organised, welcoming office environment
Skills and Experience:
● Proven experience in a finance management or senior bookkeeping role, ideally within a small business or agency environment
● A relevant finance qualification (e.g., AAT, CIMA, ACCA part-qualified or qualified) is desirable
● Proficiency in Xero accounting software
● Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, including the ability to build and maintain financial models and reporting templates
● Comfortable working with additional computer software as required.
● Experience preparing management accounts and presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
● Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
● Self-motivated, organised, and confident working independently with minimal supervision
● Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations and HMRC requirements
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
