Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Activities Co-ordinator to enrich the lives of residents within our care community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for engaging seniors through meaningful activities and possess experience in senior care environments. As an Activities Co-ordinator, you will facilitate a variety of recreational programs that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being, ensuring residents enjoy a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle.
Duties
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and adapt activities accordingly.
- Lead group sessions such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, and outings that promote socialisation and cognitive health.
- Monitor resident engagement levels and adjust programming to maximise participation and enjoyment.
- Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards and are accessible for residents with mobility or health limitations.
Skills
- Strong understanding of dementia care and Alzheimer’s care strategies to support residents with cognitive impairments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and care team members.
- Creativity in designing stimulating activities that cater to diverse needs and interests.
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for residents.
