Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Resort Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of our self catering resort. This role offers live-in accommodation for the right candidate, providing an excellent opportunity to lead a housekeeping team within resort environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Previous hotel and short let resort experience are highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of hospitality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the resort.
- Coordinate cleaning schedules for guest rooms, public areas, and private facilities, ensuring timely completion.
- Train and mentor housekeeping staff to maintain consistent quality and service standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as hotel policies.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Liaise with other departments to coordinate special requests or maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, staff schedules, and stock levels.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns related to cleanliness or service promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or a similar hospitality role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledge of janitorial procedures, cleaning techniques, and health & safety standards within a hospitality setting.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Flexibility regarding working hours, including availability for live-in accommodation if required.
- A positive attitude with excellent communication skills in British English.
