Eglinton Street Cafe in Beith is looking for a passionate, reliable, and hardworking Part-Time Chef to join our friendly team. We are known for our great coffee, warm customer service, and fantastic local breakfast and lunch dishes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food for sit-in and takeaway service (including signature breakfast rolls, light bites, and hot meals).
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, seasoning, and assembling ingredients according to recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the team during busy service times by efficiently serving food and managing orders
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
- Collaborate with team members to develop new menu ideas and improve existing offerings
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations throughout each shift
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends as needed
- Basic understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills
- Prior experience serving customers or assisting in front-of-house duties is a plus but not required
