Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental regulations. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, including cars and light commercial vehicles.
- Perform routine inspections of vehicle components such as brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools to carry out necessary adjustments or repairs identified during testing.
- Record detailed findings and complete all relevant documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Advise customers on vehicle condition and necessary repairs or maintenance work.
- Ensure all testing procedures comply with current legal and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role.
- Mechanical knowledge with a good understanding of vehicle systems and components.
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Full valid MOT Testing licence recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Good communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers.
