Do you find it easy to interact with a range of people and are you committed to developing your capabilities? Are you interested in developing your experience in Retail in a unique visitor attraction in London?
About us
Science Museum Group is here to inspire futures. We aim to grow visitors’ science capital and deepen engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM).
Our shops feature exclusive brand activations, including the Jellycat Space Shop and our award-winning Star Trek 60th pop-up shop. We are always exploring new and exciting ways to connect visitors with the museum’s mission. Many of our products are designed exclusively with sustainability in mind and chosen to support our exhibitions, including our Future of Food, Horrible Science and Power Up ranges. We also celebrate Space, the most visited gallery in our collection, with a wide range of products for all ages.
To help continue the experience our engaging galleries offer our diverse audiences, we are looking for full and part time Retail Sales Advisors to join us on a fixed term basis until January 2027.
About the role
As a Retail Sales Advisor, you’ll play an important part in creating a welcoming and inspiring shop experience for every visitor. You’ll help customers discover products they love, support sales and profit through friendly, proactive service, and keep our shops looking their best by replenishing stock and maintaining high standards of visual merchandising. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive and motivated team that takes pride in sharing the Science Museum experience with our visitors.
The positions will be working a 2-week rolling rota and the hours will be 37.5, 22.5 and 15.
About you
By joining us, you will bring strong customer service skills and the confidence to engage warmly with a wide range of visitors. You will enjoy helping people, understanding their needs and recommending products that enhance their visit.
You will be comfortable working towards sales targets and maintaining high standards in a busy retail environment. With good interpersonal skills and a positive approach, you will be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues and contribute to a supportive team culture.
You may already have experience in retail, sales, visual merchandising, cash handling or working in a visitor attraction, but this is not essential. What matters most is that you are enthusiastic, reliable, willing to learn and committed to creating a brilliant experience for every customer.
