Now Education are currently seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Year 5 (KS2) classroom.
The role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis where required. You will help children stay engaged with their work, provide reassurance, and offer additional support to help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with classwork and learning activities
- Working with small groups and individual pupils
- Assisting with literacy and numeracy tasks
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
Requirements:
- Experience working withKS2 pupils, ideally Year 5
- A patient, supportive, and encouraging approach
- Confidence helping children with their work
- Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting KS2 pupils, particularly Year 5
- Experience working in a school or classroom setting
- Confidence supporting literacy and numeracy activities
- Ability to support small group and 1:1 learning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, calm, and encouraging approach
- Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
- Relevant childcare or education qualifications (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, Teaching Assistant qualification)
