Private employer looking to recruit female Personal Care Assistant to support a fun easy going young lady with Cerebral Palsy living in the Perth Area. We are looking to add to our dedicated care team to enhance the already pleasant, fun, friendly team, providing 24 hour care and support in the family home.
Candidates must be warm and friendly, have a good sense of humor and be flexible in their approach to work. We are looking for candidates who don’t mind doing a bit of everything and having a laugh whilst you do it.
Should have a patient and caring nature.
A clean driving license is also essential
Help is needed in facilitating all aspects of personal care, moving and handling, administering medication, cooking, shopping and other day to day tasks as well as a number of therapies. You will also be supporting the young lady with appointments, social events and help to keep her independence both in the home and in the community. The young lady also uses a communication device as well as a computer and will require support to do this. Above all though, the young lady is looking to spend time sharing interests and activities with the successful candidate and enjoy whatever the day brings.
Experience in working with someone with Cerebral Palsy is desirable but not essential. Comprehensive training will be provided to assist the candidate in meeting all the young lady’s needs.
The role involves working a 40 hour week on shift basis, including weekdays and weekends, with one sleepover shift per week. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the young lady. There may also be the opportunity to cover additional sleepover shifts and to travel with the young lady on holiday. It is also desirable that the candidate has the flexibility to work additional hours on occasions. The candidate must become a member of the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme and result shared prior to starting.
