Advert Wording
Post-holders will work on an ‘as and when’ basis across all Town Halls and other Council venues as required
Kirklees Town Halls provide a vibrant and varied events programme (including live music, comedy and amateur dramatics) whilst delivering an affordable high-quality service and working with partners to deliver key Council outcomes for the community.
The key focus of this role is to provide technical services within the Town Halls and other venues, including the provision of sound, lighting and stage management at functions and events as required. You will also assist the Technical Manager and Technicians with routine and ad hoc maintenance of the venues and equipment.
With a friendly, supportive and respectful manner, you will enjoy engaging with a wide and diverse range of customers from both inside and outside the Council. Your excellent communication skills will underpin this. You will have the ability to work effectively on your own as well as part of a small and supportive team.
You will be able to remain calm and thoughtful under pressure, whilst solving problems and dealing with competing priorities.
A strong team player, you will support your colleagues appropriately to ensure the best possible outcomes for all our customers.
If you have experience of working on the technical side of live events, specifically practical, ‘hands-on’ skills in setting up and operating lighting and/or sound systems, we would love to hear from you.
