DN Colleges is looking for a Construction Lecturer - Carpentry and Joinery to join our Construction department and help inspire the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lecturer or an experienced industry professional looking to move into education. You will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of Further Education programmes, supporting learners to develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence required for successful careers within the construction industry.
As part of a committed curriculum team, you will contribute to curriculum development, student achievement, quality assurance activities and the day-to-day delivery of programmes, ensuring students receive an engaging and supportive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Carpentry and Joinery programmes.

Prepare learning materials, lesson plans and assessment activities that support learner achievement.

Assess student work, monitor progress and maintain accurate learner records.

Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to support students in achieving their goals.

Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of programmes.

Support course leadership, verification activities and quality assurance processes.

Help recruit and enrol students onto relevant programmes and contribute to meeting enrolment targets.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery and day-to-day running of the curriculum area.

Participate in staff development, appraisal activities and ongoing professional learning.
Essential Criteria
-
An appropriate teaching qualification or substantial industrial experience, with a commitment to work towards a teaching qualification if required.

Relevant subject expertise in Carpentry and Joinery that will enhance the quality of delivery within the Construction curriculum.

A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.

Experience within a lecturing, training or educational environment, or significant industry experience relevant to the role.

Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning techniques, curriculum development and the use of ICT to support learning.
