Job Purpose
To plan, deliver and assess high-quality City & Guilds Functional Skills Mathematics programmes from Entry Level to Level 2 for learners aged 16–19, including learners with SEND, EHCPs, ASC and SEMH needs, preparing them for further education, employment and independent living.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Functional Skills Mathematics lessons from Entry Level to Level 2.
- Plan schemes of work and differentiated lessons.
- Prepare learners for City & Guilds assessments.
- Assess work and maintain accurate progress records.
- Support learners with SEND alongside Learning Support Assistants.
- Embed maths into vocational and real-life contexts.
- Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and CPD.
- Promote safeguarding, equality and inclusion.
Person Specification
- Essential: Degree or Level 5 qualification in Mathematics or related subject.
- Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one.
- Experience teaching Entry Level to Level 2 mathematics.
- Desirable: City & Guilds Functional Skills experience, FE teaching, SEND experience, TAQA/A1.
