This is an early-career role for a confident and motivated person who wants to build a long-term career in business development. Working alongside the Business Development team and senior leadership, the BDE will spend a significant proportion of time meeting prospective clients, attending networking events, visiting sites and learning how conversations are developed into sustainable, long-term partnerships.

— Build new contacts through telephone outreach, email, LinkedIn, networking events, exhibitions and face-to-face meetings.
— Identify potential opportunities, renewal dates, incumbent providers and relevant client priorities.
— Support the development of a healthy, well-qualified pipeline of future opportunities.
— Arrange introductory meetings for the Business Development Manager and senior leadership where appropriate.
2. Client Engagement and Relationship Building
— Attend networking events, client meetings, site visits and industry functions as a professional representative of Avrenim.
— Build credible relationships with prospective and existing clients by listening carefully and understanding their operational needs.
— Communicate Avrenim's services clearly, with particular emphasis on practical delivery, value, compliance and sustainability.
— Maintain regular and appropriate contact with prospects and clients, ensuring agreed follow-up actions are completed.
— Support account development activity by identifying where Avrenim may be able to provide additional services.
3. Opportunity Development and Sales Support
— Help qualify leads by gathering information about client needs, timescales, budgets, procurement routes and decision-making processes.
— Support pre-bid meetings, site visits, capability presentations, proposals and tender activity.
— Coordinate information from operational, technical, commercial and marketing colleagues to support client responses.

— Participate fully in mentoring, coaching and training provided by the Business Development Manager, senior leaders and technical teams.
— Build commercial awareness and gradually take greater ownership of opportunities as capability and experience develop.
— Seek feedback, reflect on performance and demonstrate a positive commitment to continuous improvement.
Person Specification

— Genuine interest in business development, relationship management and the built environment.
— Strong written and verbal communication skills.
— Organised, reliable and able to manage follow-up actions without close supervision.
— Curious, willing to learn and able to absorb information about technical services and client needs.
— Positive, resilient and comfortable working towards activity and performance targets.
— Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence using digital systems.
— Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly for meetings and events.
Desirable
— Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent early-career experience in business, marketing, construction, engineering, sustainability or a related discipline.

Performance and Development
Success in the role will initially be measured through quality activity and development, including new contacts created, meetings arranged, accurate CRM records, timely follow-up, contribution to the sales pipeline and progress against an agreed personal development plan. As experience grows, the BDE will take increasing responsibility for qualifying, developing and converting suitable opportunities.
Our Expectations
The successful candidate will represent Avrenim professionally and act in accordance with the Group's values, policies and standards.
