Location: Gillingham
Salary Range: Competitive, dependent on experience

Your next role
Were looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join our Projects Design Team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their fire systems design career who enjoys problem-solving, learning on the job, and working collaboratively. You'll support the production of small system designs, assist with technical calculations, complete As Fit drawings, and help ensure our projects are delivered safely, accurately and professionally.
You'll gain hands-on experience across design, site surveys, tender reviews and project coordination - with plenty of support from experienced engineers.
What you will be doing
- Producing small fire system designs to BS58391 using AutoCAD
- Reading and interpreting client specifications, drawings and tender documents
- Supporting the Lead Design Engineer with loop calculations, battery calculations and configuration reviews
- Completing As Fit drawings and ensuring all project information is captured accurately
- Providing clear takeoff data using Countfire or manual methods
- Attending RCP meetings and coordinating design changes with contractors and clients
- Carrying out site visits to support Project Managers and feed back design updates
A typical week might include: drafting layouts, reviewing tender packs, assisting with calculations, attending an RCP meeting, completing As Fit drawings, and joining a site survey to understand real-world installation detail.
