YOUR ROLE
CEVA Logistics are seeking a Financial Accounting Assistant, to play an important role within the Finance team, supporting the Financial Accounting Manager and wider finance function through the delivery of accurate financial reporting, balance sheet control and cashflow management. Based in Ashby de la Zouch, this role provides exposure to a broad range of financial accounting activities and offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their accounting career within a global organisation.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
As a Financial Accounting Assistant, you will support the preparation and maintenance of rolling cashflow forecasts, ensuring the wider Treasury team has accurate visibility of the business’s cash requirements. You will manage open payment items and act as a key point of contact for the outsourced payment team, supporting the smooth processing of company payments including payroll, supplier payments, VAT and other financial obligations.
A significant part of the role involves maintaining balance sheet integrity through the completion and review of reconciliations, ensuring financial records are accurate, complete and supported by appropriate documentation. This includes areas such as insurance provisions, fuel control accounts, maintenance costs, payroll control accounts and intercompany transactions. You will raise and process Capital Expenditure purchase orders, working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
Working alongside the Financial Accounting Managers, Accounts Payable team and wider finance function, you will contribute to continuous improvement and help maintain high standards of financial governance and reporting.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in this role, you will be AAT qualified and have experience working within a finance or accounting environment. You will possess strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately when managing large volumes of financial information.
Advanced Excel skills are essential, along with the confidence to work with financial systems and reporting tools. You will be an effective communicator, comfortable working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and building strong working relationships across multiple departments. Candidates currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA qualifications will be particularly well suited to this opportunity, although this is not a requirement. Most importantly, you will be proactive, organised and eager to develop your accounting knowledge and build a long-term career within finance.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?
With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance.
