Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes or within their own homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be attentive to residents' needs, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Previous experience in care settings or home care is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal care, dressing, and mobility
- Support individuals in maintaining their independence and dignity
- Follow personalised care plans to meet each individual's specific needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
- Ensure the safety and comfort of those under your care at all times
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
- Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery
- Support with light domestic tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation where appropriate
Requirements
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow care plans diligently
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Valid driving licence is desirable for home care roles involving travel between locations
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all new staff
- IT literacy to complete documentation electronically and access relevant systems
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in caring for others
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, patience, and empathy at all times
Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
