Rate: £43–£56 per hour (PAYE), depending on grade and experience
Hours: Full-time
Location: Cumbria
Our client, a leading engineering partner on a major UK nuclear programme, is growing its mechanical design team in Cumbria. Roles are available across three levels, from Designer/Technician through to Mechanical Engineer.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Producing and checking mechanical design packages from concept through to handover
- Working within a multidiscipline design team to meet safety, functional and business requirements
- Providing design support through procurement, installation and commissioning
- (Senior / Engineer level) guiding less experienced designers and contributing to design reviews
What You'll Bring:
- HNC or above in mechanical engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Proven mechanical design experience on multidiscipline projects
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering standards and mechanical CAD tools
- SC security clearance, or eligibility to obtain it
Desirable: experience on nuclear, defence or other highly regulated / safety-critical projects; Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
