Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join The Moorings, working in the British Virgin Islands, providing an efficient, fast, professional and courteous service to all guests. Working across multiple outlets as part of the Food and Beverage team, you will be interacting day to day with a large number of guests including holiday makers from across the globe. Working in this busy resort teamwork and flexibility is key to ensure operations run smoothly and that guests leave feeling that they received a 5-star service.
What you will be doing
- Working between multiple restaurants across The Moorings resort
- Supervise and assist the setting up of restaurants for service on a day-to-day basis and for event functions as required, including change of table layout to meet function requirements
- Ensure restaurants and bars and functions are set up for service each day
- Welcome guests upon entrance with enthusiasm and a smile, introducing yourself and seating them quickly; introduce their server and or take a drink order if necessary
- Welcome guests to the restaurants and bars with enthusiasm and a smile, introducing yourself and seating them promptly
- Ensure that all guests are seated, served, and attended to in a timely manner as highlighted in the Standard Operating Procedures
- Delegate tasks to restaurant and bar staff and supervise their performance
- Maintain a fully stocked inventory and order food and drink supplies, as needed
- Manage dining reservations
- Regularly checking guests have everything they want and ensuring they are enjoying their meal and service
- Ensuring close communication with co-workers in the kitchen and front of house to ensure all customers receive the same 5-star service and supporting others where possible to achieve this
- Accurately taking cash and card payments
- Ensuring that operating tasks are completed, and checklists accurately recorded daily
- Supporting with bar, poolside areas, kitchen duties, and events, if required
- Supporting with kitchen duties if required – (the rest is required always)
- Following any directives and or tasks assigned by your manager
- Arrange to have shifts covered (e.g., when employees take time off) and schedule shifts when needed
- Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
- Balance the cash register at the end of the shift
- Coordinate with suppliers as they deliver food and drink product orders
- Ensure client satisfaction and gracefully handle any complaints
- Open or close the restaurant and bar
- Inform the next Supervisor about pending tasks
- Report maintenance and training needs
