Advantage Education is seeking a qualified English teacher for a mainstream secondary school in Bordon. This is a full-time role covering a vacancy, with the strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
About the role
You will be teaching predominantly KS3 English, with the occasional KS4 class. The role is initially long-term cover while the school recruits, but there is a genuine possibility of a permanent contract for a teacher who settles in well and makes the role their own.
A full timetable is provided, along with PPA time and the standard marking and assessment responsibilities that go with it. You will be joining a supportive English department and working within established schemes of work.
What we're looking for
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential — applications without QTS cannot be considered
- Experience teaching English at KS3, with confidence to deliver KS4 where required
- A classroom practitioner who can build rapport quickly and maintain high expectations
- Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to engaging, well-planned lessons
- A teacher who is reliable, adaptable, and happy to take on the full responsibilities of a permanent member of staff during the cover period
