Deputy Manager (Domiciliary Care), Stoke-on-Trent
£28,000 to £32,000 per year, negotiable depending on experience, plus paid on-call.
9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Honorable Care supports people across Stoke-on-Trent to carry on living in their own homes, safely and with their dignity intact. We are looking for a Deputy Manager to work alongside our Registered Manager and take real ownership of how the service runs day to day.
This is a proper number two role rather than a job title. You will hold the rota, own the auditing and the compliance, supervise the care team, and keep our client and staff files in the condition they need to be in when someone comes to look at them. If you are a Care Coordinator or Field Care Supervisor ready for the step up, or you have already done this job and want a role with the support of a Registered Manager rather than the weight of registration on your own shoulders, we want to hear from you.
THE PART THAT MATTERS MOST TO US
Compliant filing and auditing is the heart of this role, and we are being straight about that up front. Care plans, risk assessments, MAR charts, daily notes, staff files: you will own the audit cycle, find what is missing before anyone else does, and put it right. Plenty of people can talk about compliance. We are looking for someone who can open a file and spot the gap in it.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Building and running the weekly rota, covering sickness and leave, and protecting continuity of carer for our clients
Auditing client and staff files on a set cycle: care plans, risk assessments, MAR charts, daily notes and medication records
Spot checks, supervisions and competency observations out in the field
Recruitment from advert through to onboarding, including right to work, DBS and reference checks
Delivering inductions and refresher training, and spotting where the team needs developing
Carrying out client assessments, care plan reviews and service reviews
Handling complaints, incidents, accidents and safeguarding concerns properly and quickly
Keeping us compliant with CQC fundamental standards, the Care Act, safeguarding legislation and GDPR
Deputising for the Registered Manager when they are away
Covering care calls in an emergency, capped at around 8 hours a week
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You must already hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. This is essential rather than desirable, and we are not able to consider applicants without it.
Experience as a Care Coordinator, Field Care Supervisor, Deputy Manager, Care Manager or Registered Manager in domiciliary care
A working knowledge of CQC fundamental standards, not just an awareness of them
Confident on electronic rostering and care planning systems
Organised enough to hold an audit cycle together while the phone is ringing
Full UK driving licence
Right to work in the UK. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role
If you are not yet at Deputy Manager level, we are open to starting you at Care Coordinator level and title, with an agreed route to Deputy Manager inside twelve months.
HOURS AND ON-CALL
9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
On-call two weeks in every four, paid on top of your salary
Emergency care cover when we are stuck, capped at around 8 hours a week
This is a salaried management role, and additional hours may be required based on the needs of the business
WHAT WE OFFER
Salary negotiable between £28,000 and £32,000 depending on your experience
Paid on-call allowance on top of your salary
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management funded on successful completion of probation, for candidates who already hold their Level 3
A clear route towards Registered Manager for the right person
28 days annual leave including bank holidays
