Major Data Centre Infrastructure Project | North London
An established main contractor with a proven track record delivering complex infrastructure and mission-critical projects is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of a £150m infrastructure and enabling works package on a major data centre development in North London.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business with a substantial pipeline of work across the data centre sector.
The successful candidate will oversee a technically complex package incorporating bridges, roads, piling, utilities, drainage, earthworks and full enabling works, playing a pivotal role in the delivery of a flagship project.
Previous data centre experience is beneficial but not essential. However, experience delivering major infrastructure projects is essential.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the successful planning, coordination and delivery of a significant infrastructure package, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
The scope of works includes:
- Major enabling works
- Roads and highways infrastructure
- Bridge construction
- Piling and foundation packages
- Earthworks and site preparation
- Drainage and utilities infrastructure
- Ground remediation and excavation works
- Temporary and permanent works
- Infrastructure required to support the wider data centre campus
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a major infrastructure and enabling works package valued at approximately £150m
- Manage project teams, subcontractors and key stakeholder relationships
- Drive programme performance and achievement of key milestones
- Oversee commercial, contractual and operational objectives
- Ensure health, safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained at all times
- Monitor project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Coordinate multiple workstreams across civils, structures and infrastructure disciplines
- Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to project delivery teams
- Report progress and performance to senior leadership and client stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience operating as a Senior Project Manager, Contracts Manager or equivalent on major construction projects
- Strong track record delivering large-scale infrastructure and civil engineering projects
- Experience managing complex packages involving roads, bridges, piling, earthworks, drainage, utilities and enabling works
- Ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and coordinate multiple subcontractors
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Experience managing challenging programmes and driving successful project delivery
- Relevant construction or engineering qualification preferred
- Data centre experience beneficial
- Major infrastructure project delivery experience essential
