The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to support pupils with a range of complex learning needs.
You will help deliver personalised learning opportunities, encourage independence and ensure every child can access the curriculum through tailored support and engaging activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Delivering targeted interventions to support learning, communication and personal development.
- Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Assisting with personal care and mobility where required.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and external professionals.
- Monitoring progress and celebrating every achievement.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
